Community
Heritage for the people who live it.
SingaporeHeritage.sg is part community archive, part cultural organisation. We collect oral histories, run neighbourhood story calls, train volunteer docents, and return value to the people whose memories make this platform possible.
Programmes
Built on community return, not extraction.
Neighbourhood Story Calls
Open invitations for residents to submit memories, photos, shop stories, and walking routes from their own estates.
Photo Scanning Days
Pop-up events in community centres, libraries, schools, and partner shops to digitise old family photos before they fade.
Maker & Shopkeeper Profiles
Documenting small businesses, craftspeople, hawkers, and old trades — in their own words, with their permission.
Volunteer Walk Leaders
Training residents and enthusiasts to lead micro-walks through the neighbourhoods they know best.
Community Contributor Fund
Part of product revenue is allocated to contributors and local memory projects — commerce as stewardship.
Corporate Memory Projects
Helping companies document workplace, estate, or industry heritage before it disappears.
Submit a memory
Have an old photo, shop memory, route, recipe, or family story?
Add it to the archive and help shape future walks, stories, and objects. Every submission is reviewed with care, credited by default, and never published without your permission.
- • Old photographs of estates, shops, and events
- • Memories of vanished places and old trades
- • Family recipes with a story behind them
- • Walking routes you grew up with
Our story ethics
Every story deserves respect.
- Consent first: every interview, image, and memory needs clear permission.
- Credit by default: contributors are named unless they request anonymity.
- Revenue share where appropriate: if your story or artwork becomes a product, we define a fair model.
- Sensitive story review: religious practices, grief, and vulnerable communities receive heightened care.
- Community access: contributors receive free or discounted access to the projects they helped build.
- Easy corrections: if a community member spots an error, we make it simple to fix.
